Claude for Chrome does not collect, store, transmit, or process any of your personal data, browsing history, messages, prompts, or responses.

The Extension operates entirely on your local device. Any interaction you have with AI models (e.g., sending prompts or receiving responses) occurs directly between your browser and the AI service you choose to use (such as Anthropic’s Claude API, if configured by you). We do not intercept, log, or access this data in any way.

2. Permissions and Local Usage

To function, the Extension requests minimal permissions from your browser, such as:

• ActiveTab: To interact with the current webpage you’re viewing.
• Storage: To save your local settings (e.g., API keys or preferences) in your browser’s secure storage. These are never sent to our servers.
• ContextMenus (optional): To add right-click menu options for convenience.

All data (including any API keys you may enter) remains solely on your device and is not transmitted to any external server controlled by us.

3. Third-Party Services

If you choose to connect the Extension to an external AI service (e.g., by providing your own API key for Claude), your data is sent directly to that service’s servers. Please review the privacy policy of the respective AI provider (e.g., Anthropic) for details on how they handle your information.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party services.
